This statement applies to the B-SAFE web application (v4.0 and higher) and the B-SAFE support portal (v2.0 and higher). B-SAFE is run by Bondap Ltd. The optional native iOS and Android apps are not covered by this statement.
We want as many people as possible to be able to use B-SAFE. Because we build the service to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) version 2.2 level AA, that means you should be able to:
- change colours, contrast levels and fonts using your browser or device settings
- zoom in up to 400% without the text spilling off the screen
- navigate the service using just a keyboard
- navigate the service using speech recognition software
- listen to the service using a screen reader
AbilityNet has advice on making your device easier to use if you have a disability.
How accessible this service is
B-SAFE is delivered entirely in the browser. There is no client software, plug-in or extension to install, and no dependency on Java, Adobe Flash Player, Crystal Reports or Microsoft Office. The interface is standards-based HTML5 with a responsive design, and the same functionality is available on desktop, tablet and mobile.
We check conformance using automated accessibility testing, and we also test manually with assistive technologies. Both are carried out by Bondap.
We do not know of any accessibility problems in the B-SAFE web application or the B-SAFE support portal. If you find one, please report it using the details below.
Feedback and contact information
If you need information from B-SAFE in a different format, or you have a question about the accessibility of the service, email gc@bondap.com.
If you are a member of staff at an organisation that uses B-SAFE, you can also raise accessibility issues through your own organisation's service desk, or through the B-SAFE support portal if you have access to it.
Tell us what you need, and we will consider your request. We aim to respond within 5 working days.
Reporting accessibility problems with this service
We are always looking to improve the accessibility of B-SAFE. If you find a problem that is not listed on this page, or you think we are not meeting accessibility requirements, email gc@bondap.com. Please tell us:
- the page or screen where you found the problem, and what you were trying to do
- the browser, operating system and any assistive technology you were using
Enforcement procedure
Bondap Ltd is a supplier, not a public sector body. Where B-SAFE is used by a public sector organisation, that organisation is responsible for meeting the Public Sector Bodies (Websites and Mobile Applications) (No. 2) Accessibility Regulations 2018 in respect of the service it provides to its users. Public sector customers may reference this statement when preparing their own.
The Equality and Human Rights Commission (EHRC) is responsible for enforcing those regulations. If you are not happy with how we respond to your complaint, contact the Equality Advisory and Support Service (EASS).
Technical information about this service's accessibility
Bondap Ltd is committed to making B-SAFE accessible, in accordance with the Public Sector Bodies (Websites and Mobile Applications) (No. 2) Accessibility Regulations 2018.
Compliance status
We assess the B-SAFE web application and the B-SAFE support portal as meeting Web Content Accessibility Guidelines 2.2 level AA. This assessment is based on our own automated and manual testing and has not been independently audited.
WCAG 2.2 level AA includes every WCAG 2.1 level AA success criterion.
Non-accessible content
We know of no content or features in B-SAFE that fail to meet the WCAG 2.2 level AA success criteria. If we did, we would list them here with the success criterion each one fails and, where relevant, when we expect to fix it. If a problem is not listed here, we do not know about it — please report it using the details above.
Disproportionate burden
We do not currently claim disproportionate burden for any part of B-SAFE.
Content that is not within the scope of the accessibility regulations
Documents, forms and content that a customer uploads or configures within its own B-SAFE instance — for example its own policies, guidance documents, form wording and report templates — are created and controlled by that customer, not by Bondap. Customers are responsible for the accessibility of the content they add.
How B-SAFE supports assistive technologies
The points below are design characteristics of the service. What we have tested with named products is set out after them.
- B-SAFE is a browser-based application built with standards-based HTML5. There is no proprietary client, so screen readers, screen magnifiers, speech recognition software and literacy support tools operate against it as they do against any conforming web application.
- Because we build to WCAG 2.2 level AA, the interface is designed to be operable by keyboard alone, with a visible focus indicator and a logical focus order, and to work with your browser and operating system accessibility settings rather than requiring its own.
- The service is browser and operating system independent and requires no software installation on local machines. All you need is an internet connection and a modern browser (current versions of Edge, Chrome, Firefox, Safari and Chromium-based browsers).
- Because there is nothing to install, assistive technology already deployed and configured on a user's device — for example JAWS, NVDA, Dragon or Read&Write — works against B-SAFE in the browser without any additional integration or configuration on our side.
We have tested B-SAFE with JAWS, NVDA, Dragon and Read&Write. This testing is carried out internally by Bondap; it is not an independent audit. The most recent test was on 1 August 2026.
We can demonstrate B-SAFE against a customer's own assistive technology configuration on request.
What we are doing to improve accessibility
- We run automated accessibility testing against the service as part of our release process. B-SAFE has one major release a year and weekly updates, and conformance is maintained through that cycle.
- We fix accessibility problems reported to us through the routes above, and we add anything we cannot fix immediately to the "Non-accessible content" section of this statement.
- We carry out manual assistive-technology testing, using JAWS, NVDA, Dragon and Read&Write, once a year.
Preparation of this accessibility statement
This statement was prepared on 2 September 2026. It was last reviewed on 2 September 2026.
B-SAFE is tested using automated accessibility testing, carried out by Bondap as part of our release process, and by manual assistive-technology testing, which we carry out once a year.
The most recent test was on 1 August 2026. It was carried out internally by Bondap, using automated accessibility testing together with manual testing with JAWS, NVDA, Dragon and Read&Write. The test covered the core user journeys: incident reporting, DSE self-assessment, dashboards and administration.
