This policy is reviewed at least once a year, and whenever our work, our premises or the law change. It is brought to the attention of every employee at induction and after every revision.

3. Arrangements

Risk assessment

Suitable and sufficient risk assessments are carried out for all work activities, including home and remote working, travel and work at client premises, recorded and reviewed at least annually or after any significant change or incident.

Display screen equipment

Every employee who uses display screen equipment completes a workstation assessment, at the office or at home, when they start, when their workstation changes and at least every two years. Eye tests are provided on request, and suitable equipment is provided where an assessment shows it is needed.

Home, remote and lone working

Home workers complete a home-working risk assessment. Lone and remote workers keep in regular contact with their manager, and arrangements are in place for raising the alarm in an emergency.

Work equipment and electrical safety

Company electrical equipment is kept in safe condition, visually checked by users and tested (portable appliance testing) at a frequency based on risk.

Accidents, incidents and RIDDOR

All accidents, near misses and work-related ill-health are recorded in the accident book, which a director reviews monthly. Reportable incidents are reported to the Health and Safety Executive under RIDDOR by a director within the statutory timescales. Incidents are investigated and actions are taken to prevent them happening again.

First aid and fire

First aid and fire safety arrangements at each workplace are confirmed with the building management, and employees are told what they are at induction.

Health, stress and wellbeing

Work-related stress is assessed and managed under the HSE Management Standards. Employees can raise concerns confidentially with any director, and reasonable adjustments are made where needed.

Information, instruction and training

Every employee receives health and safety induction training, including this policy, display screen equipment and home-working guidance, and refresher information at least annually.

Consultation

Employees are consulted directly on matters affecting their health and safety, as required by the Health and Safety (Consultation with Employees) Regulations 1996.

Contractors and suppliers

Health and safety competence is considered when contractors are appointed, and they are given relevant information about the risks of the work.

Monitoring and review

Directors review accidents, assessments and actions at least quarterly and review this policy at least annually.
